Doba Doba is the local term for a specialist angling technique developed by Tiger fishermen on the Zambezi. This technique uses longer and lighter rods to drift Kapenta or fillet baits in the mid water, and is used extensively by the leading teams in the annual Kariba International Tiger Tournament.

Our premier technique specific Doba Doba rods are custom designed by us and hand built using the highest quality components, and are unique in the rod market. These Doba rods are acclaimed by the top tournament anglers as the best Doba rods available.

This rod uses a 9'0"", 2 piece, Rainshadow RX7 high modulus graphite blank, with a medium fast action, and rated for 6 - 10lb line.

Fuji KR concept guides provide lightness and feel, with the micro guide concept providing a quick line containment for smooth and long casts from a spinning format reel.

We have used the light but extremely hard Fuji ring material, Alconite, to ensure that the guide rings will never be worn with the use of braided lines, even after the longest runs with large Tiger.

Deluxe Fuji graphite reel seats, a one piece cork cork grip for extended use in a rod holder, and attractive gold  fittings, including folding gold hook keeper, complete a beautiful Doba Doba rod for the serious Tiger angler.

This rod is designed for use with a 2500 or 3000 series spinning reel.
